cannibalism, grave robbing
When it seems his plan has failed, Ormsby and the gang take a disinterred corpse back to an old abandoned house for a night of bickering. Unbeknownst to our band of thespians, the ritual has succeeded--it just needed a little time to kick in.
One thing leads to another and soon the dead are walking the island and chewing on the living! Now it's up to Alan, his dwindling troupe and his trusty book of spells to find a way to send the dead back to the hell they sprang from.
The director is very affected, but asserts his heterosexuality very early in the film. However, he does appear to have 'a thing' for a male corpse. In addition, his two assistants, both dressed as ghouls for the entire film, are fairly openly gay.
At one point, one of the ghouls calls a man a 'bitch' for hitting him. At another, the two ghouls ironically joke about 'going straight'.
The gay characters are very stereotypical and not the best role models. In addition, the movie is filled with enough bad one-liners that made me want to throw furniture. In spite of this, if you are a fan of campy horror, this film shouldn't be missed.
