Warnings

Even though they may read horror, a number of people are squeemish around certain topics. In order to help people find books and movies that they would enjoy, warning levels in particular subjects are given. The warnings go from 0 to 5 and are rated in essentially the following way:

• 0 - no content of this type
• 1 - a little (referred to, but nothing graphic)
• 2 - a little (mentioned briefly in only a few places)
• 3 - some (a non-trivial amount of content of this type)
• 4 - a lot (very graphic, all over the place)
• 5 - basis of the plot (such as finding sex in porn movies)

A few warnings are standard, they are:

• nudity
• sex
• violence
• S&M
• rape

Some books have content outside of these that still merit warnings (for example: necrophilia or cannibalism). These item-specific warnings are written out in text in the warning area.
