Despite dating one vampire and living with another, Rachel Morgan has always managed to stay just ahead of trouble . . . until now.

A fiendish serial killer stalks the Hollows, claiming victims across society, and the resulting terror ignites a vicious Inderland gang war. And while the ancient artifact Rachel is hiding may be the key to stopping the murderer, revealing it could also create a battle to the death among the numerous supernatural races that live in and around Cincinnati.

For every action has its price, and when the vampire master Piscary is set free and the demonic Algaliarept dares to walk openly under the sun, even Rachel Morgan can't hide forever.

Qvamp says:

This is the fifth book in the Rachael Morgan series, a series of books about a vampire, a witch and a pixy who work as bounty hunters, bringing in supernatural creatures who have broken the law.

This book continues the ascent to homosexuality by focusing on the continually developing relationship between the two main characters, Rachel, a witch, and Ivy, a vampire.

Ivy is essentially bisexual, as most vampires in this series are, and is showing Rachel what it would be like to be her partner - both in body and in blood.

Rachel is intrigued and smitten, but holds on to her idea of being 'straight.' She wants to experiment, but not to cross the sexual line. Both Rachel, and another witch friend of hers, discuss openly how unnatural they find same-sex relationships to be, though both admit that the relationship in this case appears to be a good one.
